MIT Dean to Start New Kind of University

Christine Ortiz, dean for graduate education at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is planning a new kind of non-profit university.  She expects to replace the lectures and classrooms with “huge project spaces” while the lectures, or “knowledge acquisition”, would move online and take advantage of the emerging “virtually open curriculum metacurriculum”. In other words, a flipped classroom with a Makerspace.

Update: It’s called Station1.
